"PodróżoVanie" is Kasia and Lukasz

– a close-knit couple who have been living on the road for four years in a van they built themselves. At the beginning of their journey together, they followed a pattern quite familiar in the world of twentysomethings: they went abroad, developed careers, lived in a large and comfortable house and travelled in their free time. However, although they had a lot, there was still something missing, they did not feel fully happy. Deep down, they sensed that life had more to offer them than the pursuit of money or career advancement. In September 2017, they encountered the term ‘van life’ for the first time, and the deeper they went into the subject, the stronger they felt they had to experience first-hand what it was like to live on the road.

As they felt, so they did and a month later, PodróżoVanie was born. The decision was followed by a period of intensive reconstruction – first of their own life abroad, and then, on their return to Poland, of the car they had bought and turned it into a home. With their own efforts, they turned a large van, a Volkswagen LT35, into a home on wheels in just a few months. In May 2018, they settled in it permanently and started a new chapter, living on the road and celebrating freedom.

Since then, they have visited 36 countries, touring the length and breadth of Europe and a slice of Asia. Along the way, they have crossed the Arctic Circle, waved to Africa from the edge of Gibraltar, nearly lost their lives in the Alps, spent one of their first lockdowns on a lake in Portugal and their last in Turkey. They recount these and many other adventures in short vlogs published on YouTube and in recently published books, written on the journey by Kasia: ‘The Great Carriage’ and ‘The Road’.

Their channel features all sorts of advice on van life, car and campervan travel. The total number of views of their videos to date is more than 23 million and the number of regular subscribers is more than 125,000.
